چکیده

Simplicial complexes are discrete representations of topological spaces that are practical for computational studies. The first three Betti-numbers (indicating the number of components, tunnels and voids), as well as the topological persistence of each such feature, is welldefined and can be efficiently computed for simplicial complexes embedded in 2D and 3D [1, 2]. We introduce a novel representation of the evolution of topological features in simplicial complexes using socalled tunnel-trees in 2D and void-trees in 3D. This new representation makes it possible to analyze topological evolution by applying tools for analysis of binary trees. Furthermore it supplies a new method for visualizing topological evolution.

Internal Topology on MI-groups

An MI-group is an algebraic structure based on a generalization of the concept of a monoid that satisfies the cancellation laws and is endowed with an invertible anti-automorphism representing inversion. In this paper, a topology is defined on an MI-group $G$ under which $G$ is  a topological MI-group. Then we will identify open, discrete and compact MI-subgroups. The connected components of th...

Separating Topological Noise from Features Using Persistent Entropy

Persistent homology appears as a fundamental tool in Topological Data Analysis. It studies the evolution of k−dimensional holes along a sequence of simplicial complexes (i.e. a filtration). The set of intervals representing birth and death times of k−dimensional holes along such sequence is called the persistence barcode. k−dimensional holes with short lifetimes are informally considered to be ...

Visualizing Ensembles of Viscous Fingers

This paper presents a topological data analysis framework based on persistent homology and Morse complexes for the visualization and analysis of ensemble data-sets representing viscous fingers. Our approach quantitatively corroborates the classical description of viscous fingers. A systematic analysis across several data resolutions indicates converging statistics as the resolution increases.

مدل‌سازی روابط توپولوژیک سه بعدی فازی در محیط GIS

Nowadays, geospatial information systems (GIS) are widely used to solve different spatial problems based on various types of fundamental data: spatial, temporal, attribute and topological relations. Topological relations are the most important part of GIS which distinguish it from the other kinds of information technologies. One of the important mechanisms for representing topological relations...
